What is Casenta Legal?
Casenta Legal is a case-analysis platform built for legal practice. It reads and analyses the documents in a case file, cross-references facts, identifies potential contradictions and builds a timeline. Every result links back to its source document so you can check it yourself.
How can law students use it?
Students can use Casenta Legal to prepare for moots, work through practice problems and develop the case-analysis skills used in legal practice. Student subscribers also have access to practice case files within the platform.
Will Casenta Legal write my answers?
No. Casenta Legal does not write essays, assignment answers, submissions or moot arguments. It helps you understand a case file. The analysis and conclusions remain yours.
Who can sign up?
Currently enrolled law students can sign up using a valid university email address.
Subscriptions and matters
How much does it cost?
Student pricing varies by region. View student pricing and start your free month.
What does three active matters mean?
A matter is one case file together with its documents. You can work on up to three active matters at a time and retain up to 18 inactive matters in your archive. Archiving a matter frees a place for a new active matter.
Do I need a card to start the free month?
No. You do not need to provide a payment card to begin the free month.
How does the referral offer work?
If you refer a friend who takes out a paid student subscription, you receive two additional months free.
What are Student Founding Members?
Student Founding Members are a limited group of 25 students who receive free access until graduation, for up to three years, in exchange for feedback. Read about Student Founding Membership.
What happens when I graduate?
You can move to a professional subscription or cancel. Casenta will contact you before any subscription change or charge applies.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. Let us know that you wish to cancel and download any documents you want to retain. Your account and stored documents will then be closed in accordance with Casenta's terms and privacy arrangements.
Responsible use
Can I use Casenta Legal for assessed work?
Every university sets its own rules for AI tools. Before using Casenta Legal for assessed work, check your unit outline and your university's AI policy. If you are unsure, ask your lecturer. Read our Academic Integrity guidance.
Can I upload documents from my clerkship or part-time legal job?
No, not without permission. Employer and client documents may be confidential. Only upload practice material, moot problems or documents you have the right and permission to use.
Privacy and help
Is my data safe?
Casenta Legal does not sell your data or use your documents to train AI models. Files are encrypted in transit and at rest, and each matter has its own access controls.
